"With His Hands" Ministry

Our Projects

Our Main Project - Shutesbury

Currently, our main project is helping to restore a historic church building in Shutesbury, MA.  The Federated Church of Shutesbury, established in 1827, has a rich and colorful history.  It sits "high on the summit of Shutesbury Hill on the ridge of the divide between the Connecticut and Swift River valleys.".

The character and religious spirit of the hearty people who built this church are reflected in today's congregation.  Although small in numbers, they have a strength and determination to survive.

The church is located at 6 Town Common Way, Shutesbury MA.

This once sturdy structure is in need of much repair and the "With His Hands" Mission Team has heard God's call ... HAVE YOU?

The photo gallery requires at least Flash version 9.0.28.

Shutesbury Town Celebration - 1937 Shutesbury Town Celebration - 1937

The picture to the left shows the church on Town Celebration day in 1937.  If you look closely, you can see many vintage cars parked up for the event, which must have been quite an occasion!

There is more information available about the history of Shutesbuey, including this picture, at www.shutesbury.org/history/.  Thanks is due to Shutesbury Historical Commission for permission to place this picture on our website.  Clicking the picture will take you to the history page.

The church - present day The church - present day

This is the view of the church today, taken from Wendell Road entrance.  As you can see, the church's distinct profile has changed little over time.  It's only upon closer inspection that you can see the work needed to be carried out.

It is still a focal point in the town after all these years ... let's restore it to its former self!
